Bob was a lifelong resident of Clinton, Missouri. He received his degree in Economics from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1972 and his law degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 1975. He primarily practiced in commercial law, banking, and real estate.

Bob was a member of the Christian Church of Clinton and served on the Board of Equalization for the City of Clinton for over 20 years. He was a past Prosecutor for Henry County, Missouri, past President of the Clinton Rotary Club, life sponsor of Ducks Unlimited, and enjoyed duck hunting and travelling with his family. He is survived by his wife Eleanor, children Matt and Jennifer, and two grandchildren.
